In 2006, the Chesterland Rotary took on the monumental task of buying a Bookmobile that was no longer in use, cleaning it up, stocking it with books and computers donated by the local community, and driving it to Gulfport, Louisiana to replace a Library that had been destroyed by Hurricane Katrina in 2005.

In 2008 the story continues... 

A second Bookmobile has been acquired from the Lee County Libray, and is currently being stocked and refitted to replace another Library lost to Hurrican Katrina.  This project should be completed by Spring 2008.
